Reciting the Shema in your sleep

If you could train yourself to recite the Shema while sleeping, would that fulfill the obligation to recite it?

If you're only dozing, yes. If you're really sleeping, no.

If you're only dozing, yes. If you're really sleeping, no.

Source?  Couple times I've fallen asleep while reciting, but I think I was just dozing because I vaguely remembered finishing.

Snag knows more about this than I do, but my understanding is that focus and intent are important when reciting the Shema. Chapter 17 of the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch covers the laws of reciting the Shema:

Are you yotzei ANY mitzvah if you are asleep? Even sukkah (if someone carries you in there)?

What if you're dead when you arrive in Eretz Yisrael? Does that still count? I wouldn't bother to post ridiculous stuff like this, but there's so little activity here ...
